It is OSPE's view that the next provincial election will play a major role in determining the future of engineering in Ontario. On issues of economic development, climate change, innovation, power systems, infrastructure investment, transit planning and more, Ontario forces challenges and enjoys opportunities - and engineers have solutions. But the reality is, unless engineers are empowered to lead, their voice won't be heard.
OSPE represents the entire engineering community, including professional engineers, engineering graduates and students who work or will work in several of the most strategic sectors of Ontario's economy, and predominantly in the emerging technology fields. So, as Ontarians prepare to return to the ballot box this June, the engineering community cannot afford to stand on the sidelines - we must mobilize to show the province that engineering matters.
OSPE is the only engineering association in the province that is mandated to serve the needs of the entire engineering community, including professional engineers and all engineering graduates, interns and students. We are passionate about elevating the public profile of the engineering profession and providing the support that our members, including women and other under-represented groups, need to not only succeed, but excel in their careers.
